@5:20 Many people who don't understand the problem will blame 'the government' or 'socialism' when they don't know what they are talking about. It isn't taxes or government causing very high housing prices, its because private banks lend too much, or because people buy housing as an investment instead of living (think of buyers for AirBNB instead of housing for themselves) and some "investors" are abusing people by buying housing and renting to 4, 5, 6+ income earners to exploit people. This is particularly bad for many students who spend all their money toward these corrupt "investors" buying up properties for profit. I've talked with students and hear stories of how they are being exploited by investor-buyers who sell over-priced housing to students coming into Canada. This is a terrible thing, and it requires some rethinking. I think students should be supported, not exploited by "investors" looking to make money. So outrageous housing costs do have a culprit: capitalism. LOL! The problem is the opposite of what most people think. This phenomenon is happening all the world over, in any major city. It isn't just Toronto. Toronto just happens to be a more global, multi-cultural city than most. Many cities are far more expensive than Toronto, which is sad. It isn't the government just here or the policies just here in Canada, it is a global systemic problem where banks lend too much and people take on too much debt, because they don't feel there are other options. That's actually going to take more government regulation and public programs, not less, in order to fix. BTW, welcome to Canada. I immigrated here over a decade ago, and yes I plan on staying. The quality of life has been better, for me. Contrary to many opinions, I make more money in Canada than I did in the US, and I have had much better experience here. Best of luck!

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no culture, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, only modern slavery, worst healthcare system, unbearable political correctness, crime infested/drug infested, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become a North Korea style dictatorship in the western world. There are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions, welfare, unemployment benefits, disability benefits and the numerous other programs, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia. Multiculturalism destroys the fabric and identity of a country. Socialism bankrupts a country.
